Who We Are

NWO Renovation is a family-owned window, door and renovation company based in Northwood, Ohio, owned and operated by Elizabeth Jane. Under her direction we have spent 25 years working on homes and commercial buildings across Northwest Ohio, and almost all of that work has come from neighbors, referrals and repeat customers.

We are an RRP Certified contracting business. On older Ohio homes that certification is not a formality. It means the crew follows lead-safe work practices from the first cut to the final cleanup, which protects your family and your property while the job is underway.

We stay small on purpose. A smaller team means we know every job on the calendar, we answer the phone when you call, and the person who quoted your project is the person standing in your living room on install day.

Why Homeowners Choose Us

We show up. Missed appointments are the number one complaint people have about contractors. We give you a time and we keep it.

One quote, no moving numbers. The price we give covers labor, materials and cleanup. If something unexpected turns up behind the trim, we call you before we spend anything.

We work clean. Drop cloths go down, old units go out, and the site gets swept before we leave. You should not be cleaning up after us.

We stand behind the work. If a window sticks or a door drags six months later, call us. We come back.

Energy savings that are real. We will explain what a new window will actually do for your heating bill in an Ohio winter, not what a brochure claims.

How a Project Works

Step 1: The call. Tell us what is going on. Drafty windows, a rotted frame, a door that will not close, or a full renovation plan.

Step 2: The visit. We come out, measure, check the frame and sill condition, and look at what is behind the opening.

Step 3: The quote. You get a written price with the product options laid out and the timeline attached.

Step 4: The install. We do the work on the day we said, with the same team throughout.

Step 5: The walkthrough. We check every unit with you before we go. Anything that is not right gets fixed.

Owner-Operated

NWO Renovation is owned and run by Elizabeth Jane, who has 25 years in the trade and is personally involved in every project the company takes on. She handles the estimates, oversees the installs and is the person you call if you have a question after the job is done.

That is the difference between a family-owned company and a big outfit. There is no call centre, no rotating crews and no salesperson who disappears once the contract is signed.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long has NWO Renovation been in business?

NWO Renovation brings 25 years of hands-on experience in windows, doors and home renovation across Northwest Ohio. That experience is concentrated in one region rather than spread thin, so we know how homes in this part of Ohio are built, how lake-effect winters affect them, and which products actually hold up here. Most of our work over those years has come from referrals and repeat customers rather than advertising, which is the clearest sign that the work holds up. The company operates out of Northwood, Ohio and serves the surrounding counties.

  • Who owns NWO Renovation?

NWO Renovation is owned and operated by Elizabeth Jane, based in Northwood, Ohio. She is a working owner, not an office owner, which means she handles the estimates herself, oversees the installations and is the person you reach if you have a question after the job is finished. Her 25 years in the trade cover windows, doors and full renovation work on both residential and commercial properties. Customers deal with her directly rather than going through a salesperson or a call centre.

  • Do you work on commercial buildings?

Yes. Alongside residential work, NWO Renovation handles commercial window replacement and installation for local businesses, offices and rental properties throughout Northwest Ohio. Commercial jobs usually involve different scheduling needs, since the building has to keep operating while the work is underway, so we plan the sequence around your business hours where possible. We handle both single-unit replacements and larger multi-opening projects. Call for a walkthrough and a written quote.

  • What does RRP Certified mean?

RRP stands for Renovation, Repair and Painting. It is an EPA certification required for contractors working on homes, child care facilities and schools built before 1978, where lead-based paint may be present. Disturbing that paint during a window or door replacement releases lead dust, which is a real health risk for children and pregnant women. Being RRP Certified means NWO Renovation is trained and approved to contain the work area, control the dust and clean up properly. In a region with as much older housing stock as Northwest Ohio, this matters on a large share of jobs.

  • Do you offer free estimates?

Yes. Call (419) 913-6991 and we will schedule a visit at a time that suits you. During the visit we measure every opening, check the frame and sill condition, and look at what is behind the trim so there are no surprises later. You then get a written quote covering labor, materials and cleanup, with the product options laid out so you can compare them. There is no obligation and no pressure to sign on the spot.

  • How long does a window replacement take?

A single-unit replacement is usually finished in a few hours. A full-house replacement generally takes one to three days, depending on how many openings there are, whether it is a pocket replacement or a full frame replacement, and the condition of the existing frames. Full frame replacements take longer because the old frame, sill and trim all come out. We give you the expected timeline in writing with the quote, and if anything changes we tell you before the work continues.

  • Do you install energy-efficient windows?

Yes. We install double pane and energy-efficient units in vinyl, wood and aluminum frames. In an Ohio climate, where you are heating for a long winter and cooling through a humid summer, the gain from replacing single pane or failed double pane windows is usually noticeable on the utility bill and in comfort near the window itself. We will give you a realistic picture of what to expect from a given product rather than repeating brochure numbers, and we will tell you when an upgrade is not worth the extra cost on your particular home.

  • What areas does NWO Renovation cover?

We serve Northwood, Oregon, Perrysburg and Sylvania, along with Lucas County, Wood County, Ottawa County and Sandusky County in Ohio. Staying inside this radius is deliberate. It keeps travel time short, which means we can get back to you quickly if something needs attention after the install. If you are close to the edge of that area, call and ask, because we often make exceptions for nearby towns.

  • Should I repair or replace my windows?

It depends on what has failed. A broken balance, a worn seal on a single unit or damaged hardware is often worth repairing, and a repair can buy several more years at a fraction of the cost. Replacement makes more sense when the frame is rotted, when there is fogging between the panes across multiple units, when the windows are single pane, or when the sash no longer seats properly. We look at the frame and sill condition during the estimate and tell you honestly which way to go, including when the cheaper option is the right one.

  • Is NWO Renovation a family-owned business?

Yes. NWO Renovation is a family-owned and operated company led by Elizabeth Jane in Northwood, Ohio. The team stays small on purpose, so the person who quotes your project is the same person on site during the install. There are no rotating subcontractor crews and no handoff to a stranger once the contract is signed.
